Jim R Calhoon & Grandson Luke R Calhoon feeding cotton cake to heifers bred to start
calving March 25th. They are mostly daughters of Thunder. All are bred to
Shadow, grandson of Cal-Dak's outstanding herd bull Summit, used in the late 90's.
Summit had leader of Volga bloodlines. Thunder is of the Touche' & Sparky linage.
This is an outstanding set of heifers (18) and due to the drought we will have to sell
6 - 8 of them. These heifers gained 2.31 pounds per day, getting 4 pounds of grain per day
and all the ground hay they wanted last winter. They will make excellent cows.
