These angels are made by the Lakota People, and are 95% hemp fiber and stalk, grown on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Betsi -- hand stitching the first American flag -- from hemp textiles, of course...

Blondie -- sports big blonde curls and a smart purple hat died with chokecherries.

Blue -- An all American flag-waver in coveralls.

Flower -- just hanging around in a flower pot.

The first American flag was made with hemp fabric.  If Betsy Ross were keeping up with her neighbors, she probably had a hemp patch in her garden for spinning textiles.  Early colonials often paid taxes in hemp, and the ships they sailed on were rigged with hemp sails and rope.

This Betsi is 5" sitting, in a chair of hemp stalks.  Her hat, flag and clothes are all hemp textiles.*

$35 + $5 shipping and handling

Lill Drummer -- drum and stick and treble clef wings

Rodeo Rhoda -- Red, white and blue with a hemp lariat

Star -- Red shirt, white hat and blue tie.

*These angels are approximately 95% hemp.  The face is a wooden bead, and wire is used in the foundation.
