Photo by Kim Michels Estrella Atlantico do Ponta Preta (Tico) Black Point represents the name of the private New Hampshire farm that originally adopted Tico from the BLM. Tico is a beautiful bay Sulphur mustang gelding with black legs, black mane and tail, and a bright star on his forehead. This star was the inspiration for the name Tico. He was born in the wild in the Sulphur Springs Herd Management Area in Utah. After being gathered as a two-year-old, he was adopted almost immediately. Tico has a white BLM neck brand on the left side of his neck. He arrived to his adoptive home as a stallion but was later gelded. In May of 2010, Tico was donated by his owner to the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary. He lives out on the open range with his band of friendship mares and geldings in a separate area from Don Juan. |
