Progress
October 2004

Greg found a couple of weeks in October to really get busy on the boat. After a busy summer in the body shop and on the river, Greg tacked up all the metal around the hull of the sailboat. Prior to tack welding the big sheets, he finished laying the longitudinals around the hull frame. Prior to the radii, he designed and installed the bow thruster, which consists of a metal tube extending to both sides at the front of the boat (in the sail locker) where a propeller will guide the front of the boat for docking and other situations.

A pattern to the bow thruster.

Where the propeller will sit.

Notice the tube of the thruster extending on both sides of the boat just underneath the point.

Greg welds more pieces to the hull longitudinals

Greg lifts one of the "smaller" metal pieces to the hull.

Greg attaches more longitudinals to the hull frames.

Time for the big sheets.

This boat's getting ready to float!
